    Cheaply made productFirst set I ordered had a broken spoon and another splintered spoon that was unusable. Asked for a replacement set which I received quickly at no charge but this set wasn't any better other than nothing broken. These spoons/spatulas are extremely rough to the touch with splintered areas on the handles as well as the spoon/spatula ends and I wouldn't trust these to actually put into a food item for the fear of splinters in the food. I'm sure they could be sanded down and a sealer put on them but then why didn't I just pay more for a better quality set?! Throwing these away in the recycle bin and on the search again for some quality bamboo spoons. I guess you get what you pay for but don't waste your money even trying this set. Had been impressed by the 4 star rating but I'm not sure how the set received that. I will read more reviews next time - especially the low ratings to see what the exact problem is. Lesson learned. 1Splintered after a single useHad this set for a few weeks now. I usually try to give stuff like this a chance, but so far I'm not that impressed. I've used two of the spoons for light cooking, and washed and dried them within a half hour of use. Both have already started to crack and splinter after just one or two uses. I've had bamboo utensils before, and no I didn't leave them sitting in water or even cook over that high of heat.I guess they could make an okay secondary set, or for use only once in a while. If you're looking to do some serious cooking or for everyday use, I'd go for something better. 2I'm not horribly disappointed but also not over impressedI'm not horribly disappointed but also not over impressed. The spoon has a rough edge in the middle, like it wasn't sanded enough. There is not much lacquer, if any, on these utensils. I thought about returning the set but was too late and for the price I figured I would just keep them. I wouldn't expect the best of the best for what was $1+ per utensil. They seem to serve their general purpose, at least as of now (I've been using them for 2 - 3weeks). The spatulas are kind of thick and not exactly flat. I haven't used them yet but I don't think you could use them for something like flipping pancakes. 3Cheaply madeI purhcased this bamboo spoon set to fill a void in my cooking utensil arsenal. I don't use wooden tools often, so I wasn't looking to spend a lot of cash and this set had good reviews, so I picked it. The bamboo spoon were all splintery straight out of the package. I am worried they will get bits of wood in my food and they are basically worthless to me. I guess you get what you pay for when it comes to quality. 2Cheap and full of splinter of woodI guess you get what you pay for. Cheaply made... splinters of wood on them... I m afraid to use them with food. I d suggest getting something else. 1Darling(s) of the utensil drawerLet s begin with the most unexpected thing - I ALWAYS reach for one of these (flat ones, the guys on each end) when I need a flipper. Bacon, sandwiches, eggs, yes I have used it and it has worked wonderfully. I certainly never thought the day would come when I would be using anything other than a high priced paper thin turner as a flipper. These work, in my opinion, better than those.Tools are sturdy, wash well (are smooth) and since they re wooden they won t melt/hold heat and are cheap to replace. How can you go wrong?? 5Unfinished quality out of the box.When these first arrived, there were some rough edges and splintered sections right out of the bag. They smoothed out after some sanding and use, but never really rose much above the cheap-o utensils you can get at the dollar store. I have since replaced them with more expensive models. That being said, they all served their purpose, and looked good for the price. Anyone willing to put in the time to finish these utensils could do worse. 2DisappointedI bought these utensils looking for something a little more durable than thin plastic cookware. I was very excited to receive them in the mail. However when i opened them i was very disappointed. There was no lacquer finish what so ever just naked wood and the utensils were definitely splintering. However the selling price was rather cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. =( Also received a splinter from one of the handles while removing them from their packaging, not very well sanded. 1Bamboo UtensilsThis was such a good deal for an inexpensive 5 Piece Bamboo Utensil set ,I wasn't sure what to expect after reading many good reviews I decided to place my order and to my surprise these are great.First thing I did was similar to what one reviewer said I washed these by hand with a antibacterial dish soap and let them hang out to dry than once they were ready I used a baster brush and brushed evoo on each of the Utensils let that soak and and I was good to go. These are much better than the wood ones I didn't care much for those .I have used these with many dishes daily they don't scratch my pans the only thing is I have to get use to the spatula its kinda on the flat side and I am use to using spatulas that are flexible ,however I did use it to remove baked cookies with no problems.I really like this set and will get plenty of use out of these and will order more down the road. 5Gross smell doesn't go away - transfers to foodThese utensils have a really weird smell - even after washing multiple times by hand and in the dishwasher. I even tried the sanitize option on my dishwasher. The smell transfers a funny taste to food as well. I used the spoon after washing it once to stir mac and cheese noodles and that's how I found out about the smell/taste issue. The noodles smelled and tasted funny - had to throw them out. Really bummed. I was looking forward to these. 1
