- ABOUT THE ARTIST -
Sascha Maurer - SASCHA MAURER (1897-1961) Best known for his ski and travel posters from the 1930s and 1940s, Maurer was born in Germany. His father was a painter who died when Maurer was young, leaving him his watercolors and palette. Using his father's tools, Maurer began to paint in the Bavarian Alps during his vacations. He then studied art at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and also studied independently with poster artist and watercolorist Ludwig Hohlwein.
