Customer Reviews

Good value but didnt live up to my edge cleaning desires & a little too big for my needs--berber carpet & flooringThis was my first experience with a robot vacuum and I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't have a roller at the bottom which meant nothing got caught in it and it rolled over bathroom rugs and easily spit out any corners it sucked up. Loved the UV light and double HEPA filters. It couldn't maneuver around our kitchen table legs easily and this the area I really needed it to work (to be fair, it is a tight fit since our breakfast area is small). The Edge Cleaning mode was a bit difficult to manage. I thought I set it for Edge cleaning, but I didn't see it do it (the brushes were long enough for it to get close enough to edge to clean most of it). It didn't hug the edges and follow it along the wall the way I thought it would. We have laminate wood floors and berber carpet so this machine worked really well for us. This really is a good machine. It does bump into furniture pretty good, then turns away (but we have boys so it's not a big deal for us). It may be an issue if you have nicer furniture. I was comfortable in leaving it to do its job without having to babysit it because it didn't tangle in anything or get stuck. It returns to its charging station without any help after at least min of cleaning. I used it for a good week before deciding to send it back due to its size and unsatisfactory edge cleaning. It still picked up a ton of dirt each time it was used. 4Works OK, but broke down twice in six monthsI bought this two months ago and it worked OK... mostly. Then stopped working, entirely.Firstly, the OK working:It did a decent job of picking up dust and small debris around my small apartment and I barely needed to use my proper vacuum during the period it worked. However, pretty much every day it would get itself stuck somewhere. I would have to fold my rug back on itself to avoid getting stuck on that, tuck shoelaces into my shoes, put away all cables etc. Fine, it forces me to stay tidy, but sometimes it would stop for no good reason in the most inconvenient places (deep under my bed). In summary, a bit annoying but worth it overall. After I'd had it for about six weeks it stopped working entirely. It happened not long after I used the damp cloth mopping function, so I suspect it couldn't cope with the moisture. It was outside of Amazon's four week window, so I had to contact the manufacturer. They insisted I send it back to them at my own expense. Do you know how much it costs to send a vacuum cleaner from California to Indiana? $34. For a faulty product. Really unacceptable.Update after six months:It's broken down again. This time, one of the wheels won't turn. The manufacturer didn't reply to my email, not that I was particularly in any mood to pay another $34 to post it back to them again. I guess this is the end of my Rollibot journey. 1Automatic Cleaning Vacuum.I read the Amazon reviews of robotic vacuum cleaners and decided to purchase the Rollibot 618. It was shown to be the best of 5 for cleaning ability, quietness and price. It was the low end of 5 best, and was the qualified as the best for price catagory. It offers (1) automatic cleaning controlled by a remote control you can use to program directions for the vacuum, or letting control itself by 4 cleaning modes, (2) a powerful suction for the debris guided into its vent by two side brushes, (3) UV sterilization you can turn on or leave off, (4) stair detection so it will not fall off stairs, (5) hardwood floor and shag carpet cleaning ability, (6) ability to clean for 90 minutes until it runs low on it's battery, when it will seek its included charging base, and (7) Manufacturer's Warranty for the new product. What I like best is the remote, which can control the Robotic Vacuum to any of it's 4 cleaning modes, automatic cleaning, spot cleaning, edge cleaning or zig-zag cleaning, important to be assured of complete cleaning of your home. It has been said that robots cannot clean as well as your normal vacuum and should be used in addition to them, not as a replacement. For this reason I gave it 4, not 5 stars. 4Does what I need, great price, & customer support helped after warranty expiredI think all of these machines have trade-offs: *Battery-operated vacuums will only have so much suction, but they can move around more freely. *The unit cannot go over as many obstacles if it's close to the floor, but the suction will be better. *If the motor is more powerful, it'll probably be noisier. Is this perfect? No way. It does get stuck on my hardwood thresholds, so I use physical barriers to prevent that from happening. It will grab loose fabrics and thin mats, and they will get stuck. Pick them up and shake them off. Use common sense. It does fine on short-piled rugs, but again, it's not going to clean as well as a vacuum that's plugged into a wall outlet.I did have two issues with the unit: the voice mechanism messed up, but I decided that wasn't worth sending in for a repair. The second issue was with a wheel that stopped turning after the 1 yr manufacturer's warranty. I read some of the reviews and it had happened to someone else after the 1 yr warranty had expired. Customer service had replied, stating that they wished the customer had let them know and they would've helped, so I contacted them and that's exactly what they did. I sent it in and they repaired it at no charge.Bottom line: I have lots of pets, so I need all the help I can get keeping fur off of my hardwood floors. It does everything I really hoped it would, all things considered.Would it go down stairs left on its own? Probably. Block access to the stairs. Will it get every bit of dust everywhere? Not in my house, but it does clean under beds and some pieces of furniture better than I can. Will it find its way back to the charger when the battery runs low? I doubt it, but I just put it near the charger and hit the "Home" button when I'm finished using it. What's the big deal? I have to manually plug in my phone to charge it several times per day. Griping about a product that cleans my floors for me not returning to its charger without help is what I call a problem of privilege. If that's the biggest problem I face, my life is fantastic. If this makes it 3 years I think it will have been well worth the cost. 1.5 years down. 4Great...while it lasts. Not for pet owners. These BL618 models are great for the first couple months of ownership, but they fail quickly in a house with pet hair. We've gone through three different units in less than three years. You would think that the manufacturer's warranty would make this right, but they make you pay to send in your vacuum in the original packaging which can cost around $40. So after you've paid $40 to send in their broken piece of hardware, you wait around a month to a month and a half to get it back. I purchased the Amazon extended warranty for one of my Rollibots, so we'll see if that's remotely better. Honestly, I would rather have spent the money from all three of my failed units on a single decent unit from someone else. 1Best vacuum for the priceI can't believe that this product is so cheap compared to name brand Rombas. If this product lasts me a year, it will have been worth it! I have used this vacuum every day for a month and a half and I love it. It's on a schedule to go on at night and I forget it. If it's on the charger in the morning, I'll put it upstairs before I go to work. Sometimes it takes forever for the Vacuum to find the charger so be aware - but it will eventually find it as long as it isn't suck. Which bring us to...ONE con to the product: It loves shoelaces and cords and will find them. Once it does, it will try to get away and it won't so it will stop and shut down. So now I have to make sure nothing with strings is on the floor before I go to bed, which isn't too bad of a problem when it comes to the big thing of me not having to vacuum so often. 4<3LOVE LOVE LOVEI have two cats. This thing is amazing at picking up cat hair on my hard wood floors. I recommended it to my boss and she loves it too! The UV light works, but its very small. It probably wont do much. I even ran this after my maid left for the day. She does a really good job. Long behold the bin was half full! I have no idea where it collected this dirt and hair from. Every time it runs the bin comes back full.If you have carpet in your home you want this device to clean, save you money and buy a different model. It does not work on carpet at all. But if you have hard wood floor I very highly recommend this device.Cheers! 5Worked for a few uses....Piece of garbage... I bought it to help out with picking up my dogs hair. It picks up hair just fine, and small objects ( like her dog food ) but within a few uses it wouldn't dock properly.... It would dock, and appear to charge for a few seconds or so, then undock and sweep the length of about a foot or so then dock again.... and it would continue to do so docking and undocking until I finally gave in and shut it off. 1I guess I was expecting moreI guess I was expecting more.Does well with hard flooring. Not rated for carpeting. We call it "Bumper" because it appears to wonder aimlessly around but surprisingly gets pretty much everything. We clean the device about every other usage. We only use when surface is starting to show signs. Battery life is as advertised. The programming it does have gets itself out of some pretty good jams: under chairs, in corners, under tables, dealing with rugs and obstacles.Design recommendation: angle the exhaust discharge vents upward. As it turns, the exhaust air blows around dust not cleaned yet.I wish the programmers would use the ceiling as a design layout for complete coverage. Or on first startup, put the device in different parts/corners of the room to be covered.I guess I got my monies worth.Wonder how the more expensive devices ensure complete coverage? Or do they? 4...for daily upkeep, this thing DOES THE JOB!!!!OMG...the stuff this picks up! The other reviews were right, this isn't as good and thorough as my housekeeper or me (when I have the time)....think difference between using a swifter vs multiple passes with a broom and a mop...or ...a lysol wipe to clean countertops vs scrubbing, but for daily upkeep, this thing DOES THE JOB!!!! I am ALWAYS (still after using it 2-5 times per week for a little over 6 months) SHOCKED at how much dust and other stuff is in the trash bin when I empty it out. Battery lasts long enough to clean about 1200-1400 sqft in my house. I do need to use the remote to guide sometimes so that it will be more efficient and faster, otherwise it will still get it all just takes longer as it maneuvers on its own. If this thing lasts another 6 months (crossing fingers) it will have DEFINITELY been worth the price, which really wasn't that bad considering it was well under $200. The mopping feature also works, but the cloth tends to dry out quickly...this could be addressed by continuing to re-wet the cloth or spraying the floor with cleaner a section at a time. I did try using swifter mopping pads, it works, but not that great, but I also didn't cut them to size as was suggested. 5
