Customer Reviews

FineNot too big or too small. Bought this to start making spam musubis again and it has been great. The rice doesn't stick on it much and doesn't require much pressure to press the rice down. The design allows for a comfortable feel while using it. It even comes with a 3-step instruction paper on the outside, in case you are unsure of how to use it. It is in fact one of the best musubi makers that I have used. Also, better than using a wooden one for sure.3Why didn't I buy this sooner?! Why didn't I buy this sooner? I used to make Spam musubi shaping the rice with my fingers. Fingers sticky and rice not as pretty, but with the Musubi maker, its faster, easier, and rice looks perfect! 5Photos depicting 2, it s only 1!!! I thought this came with two (a big one and a smaller one) cause I didn t read the description(and that s my bad) had I known it was only one I would ve bought another one exactly like this for a cheaper price. 2Simple and great! This is a great little gadget!! Thank yousimple and great5Great product for making Spam MusubiFor its price, this a great buy. It comes with 2 pieces: 1 presser and 1 rectangular shaper (hollow). It's clear plastic also permits you to see how much rice is added and judge the size of the final musubi during production. We had made spam musubi before with a jimmyrigged musubi maker and we ended up having to ditch the maker and use the sushi roller, which is not great for holding the traditional rectangular shape of spam musubi. It's very easy to use. Just cut the nori to the width of the rectangular shaper and lay the center of the strip inside of the shaper. Place rice on top of the nori inside of the shaper and press. This compresses the rice adequately while allowing the sushi to keep a rectangular shape. Place the spam on top of that layer. Then add more rice and use the presser the top layer down. We found that to remove the shaper, we had to hold the presser on top while lifting the shaper up from the sushi. Finally, seal the nori on top.The only other addition would be ideal nori length dimensions if you wanted to fill the entire shaper with rice/span/goodies. Of note is that you must wash the presser between each application as it retains rice, which is inherently sticky and the layer of water acts as a natural rice "repellent," allowing you to press another layer of rice without grabbing more when releasing.5Excellent ProductMy old Musubi press was lost in a recent move and I was in need of a replacement. My old press was made of bamboo and served me for years but it started to fray around the edges and I think my wife threw it out but told me it was lost but she won't admit to it. Unfortunately the area I moved to did not have a Asian market nearby and the markets which I did go to did not have any musubi presses. So a quick search on Amazon returned several different makes and models. I weighted the quality of the product vs. the cost and shipping and ended up settling for this one even through I was not sure that I liked the transparent shell. Delivery was quick and I recall took a few days to receive. This press is a quality product and after using it I found I really likee that I can see inside the press. Unlike my old bamboo press, I did not experience torn wrappers due to sharp edges or frays on the inside - this think is silky smooth. The only fault I see is the fact that the column used to press down on seems weak and causes uneven pressure on the musubi where as my old one had a supported column that evenly distributed pressure over the entire musubi. This is not really a big detractor as I ended up pushing on the plate rather than on the column. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to my friends.5ExcellentPerfect for making spam musubi! Island boy living in the mainland still gotta make some local boy food.5Good tools We like it 5Perfect Rice PressI love using this. It creates the perfect mold for the rice. The press looks to be high quality and the acrylic is pretty thick. The press is easy to use and since the mold is clear, you know when the rice is flattened enough.5I love SPAM Musubi for some reasonI love SPAM Musubi for some reason, and assembling Musubi is labor intensive. Between this Musubi press and the DIY SPAM can press, I actually prefer the SPAM can. But this accessory is nice to have around when you don't have the right sized SPAM can, or if you have people helping you and can have more than one person pressing at a time.3WOOOO Musubi!I love Musubi!! First tried it in Hawaii, and I have made it at home since. Easy to make, you can find the sprinkles (made with a little salt, sea weed, sesame seeds, and other spices) online... Be sure to cut the seaweed wrap first then place under the maker then add the rice add a little soy or teriyakithen the meat press and wrap! EASY!The quality of this press is excellent, I have two and have had them for several years so they do last!5Tips This 2 in 1 is da best. Perfectly fits on one sheet of Nori (seaweed). To reduce the rice from sticking, I get a large pitcher of warm water with some table salt. Dip the mold in the salt water after each press. I also have a moist warm paper towel to wipe the knife after each slice I make. I know some people slide the knife through a lemon instead of the paper towel. When making musubi's for parties, I cut em in quarters and use parchment or wax paper between layers. Growing up in Hawaii, this is the perfect beach or hiking snack. 5Spam Musubi maker = AWESOMEThe Spam Musubi maker arrived quickly, in perfect condition, and fit perfectly in my mailbox so I did not have to walk to the post office to retrieve my package, a delight for those of us living in Manhattan that do not have the luxury of a doorman. The musubi maker is simple to use and within minutes, I was making perfectly compact bite-sized pieces of heaven. The seller had the lowest price for the musubi maker and great shipping time. I would definitely purchase from the seller again in the future and have told all my friends interested in the musubi maker to buy from this vendor. Awesome!5PerfectAllows you to make the perfect Musubi every single time! Its my go to easy way to do a bunch quickly!5
