Customer Reviews

Nice quality and fit - for the price! I hesitated to purchase this Intex pool cover, due to some negative reviews. I went ahead and ordered it and I'm very pleased with the fit and quality. The plastic is heavy weight, not cheap and light. It covers my 12 fit metal frame Intex pool perfectly and it did NOT blow off in a major windstorm that traveled threw a few days after installation. I'm not quite sure why some folks were unhappy with their purchase of this cover. I find it works swimmingly (pun intended). 5Not A Good Pool Cover... This was a very poor purchase on our part. The cover doesn't fit well on our 12 foot Intex metal frame pool at all; we used quick grip clamps to hold it on but it's truly a hassle to take on and off. On top of the fact that it isn't fitted well for the size pool it's supposed to work on, it also has holes that are supposed to promote rain drain off. Instead, rainwater collected on top of our pool and algae grew in the stagnant water basically overnight. I would not recommend this cover and I'm disappointed to have spent my money on something I used for less than a week. 2Cheap construction and does not perform. Useless cover for the 12 ft metal frame pool. This cover lays on top of the water and the string designed to keep the cover on is week and super thin. A light breeze would cause this cover to blow off the pool and allow all the leaves and dirt into the water. You are better off buying the solar cover that looks like bubble wrap and floats on the water. Definitely not worth the money. 1Good idea, but not the most helpful. The cover is made for the pool we have. The cover will not properly tighten or stay on the pool. I tied it to one of the metal bars on the pool so I don t have to hunt it down in the fields after a storm or good wind. Could be a great product if the design team tweaked a few things. It needs a clasp or something of that nature to keep the strings tied tight. They stretch and slip out of a knot when wet. My other issue is that it has holes in it. It s a debris cover, so I get that it s supposed to keep the big stuff out. I d like it to keep all the stuff out. I ve gone through so much shock in the month we ve had it running because all the gnarly rain water is getting in. 2I read reviews that said it would fly off easily with wind and since we have some serious storms ... I'm only giving this 4 stars because I haven't had it long enough to see how it will last over the summer. After reading lots of reviews I went ahead and ordered this. We needed it to keep tree leaves out of the pool so I'm not constantly skimming. I read reviews that said it would fly off easily with wind and since we have some serious storms where we live I just purchased some clamps from Walmart (can be seen in my photos) which I believe will do the trick. It does sag in the middle which doesn't bother me much but some people seemed very upset about it. Again, the purpose for us having it is just to keep debris out. I was happy so spend the money in return for more time relaxing in our pool. Oh, I should also mention it really requires two people to put it on. Hope this helps! 4You get what you pay for You pay $16 for a cover, you get what you pay for. It does it's job, but I wish I had realized the issues before purchasing. We have the 12ft x 30in Intex metal frame pool. I thought it'd have been more fitted to cover the pool as depicted, but instead it comes with two useless strings that you are supposed to use as a drawstring to secure it. Because I can't tighten the cover, it just sort of sits on top. I've seen some reviewers using clamps and/or Velcro which we may try to keep it secure. We haven't had any strong winds so I can't say if it'll stay put or not. It isn't easy to put on by yourself, but it can be done. I do like that it has holes in the top to help with airflow and rain water drainage. It helps to keep the tree debris out of the pool, but because the plastic isn't sturdy, the debris has all fallen to the center. It's now weighted down and sinking which makes it difficult to get the cover off (by oneself) without dumping it all in the pool on accident. Again, you get what you pay for. I think we might actually consider some type of hard cover for ours if they make them. 3Not great but maybe the best solution. The Good: It's the right size for our pool, keeps most but not all debris out of the pool, holds the heat from the sun in there so the water is nice. The Bad:It doesn't stay on tight, any kind of a breeze will blow part of the cover up letting leaves, bugs and dirt in. When I pulled the strings to tighten it up it ripped a little. Not sure what else I'd use to keep it in place but right now I'm using some wood clamps with some cut up pieces of towel between the clamps and the cover to keep the clamps from ripping the cover. 3Great cover even better price! Fits the pool great with enough room on sides! Great cover for the price!Update! This cover is useless. I mean for an every day cover it is, the holes in it make the thing go underwater no matter what which defeats the purpose of trying to keep anything out and with the water always being on top you have to pull it out-like it s a project!! Also there is the number 46 written with pen very big-wth is that about???? Total waste and don t bother!!!!! I had a cheaper cover that lasted two seasons and worked much better! 1Has worked well for us. Would definitely recommend. We have the 12ft x 30in metal frame above ground pool. This cover has worked relatively well for us. It is not super tight, as shown in the picture, but can be tightened using the drawstrings on it. My husband and I work together to make the strings tighter. It has only blown off once for us, but we had pretty bad winds that night. There are some holes on the top to allow some air flow and to prevent rain water from pooling on top, which haven't let in much debris for us. We had heavy rains this week and still had some water pooled on top, but that is to be expected with an outdoor pool and heavy rains. My only complaint- when the water/debris was pooled on top, we tried to take the cover off from one end to the other to prevent the debris (leaves) from going into the pool. Unfortunately there was too much water on top and the cover fell into the pool. The first time we took it off, we were afraid it turned our pool into a sauna, but it surprisingly kept it cool through a week straight of 100+ degree weather. My only suggestion is to hang it over something (we use the swing set) to let it dry a little before storing it while using the pool. Otherwise it will smell funny. We are very pleased with this purchase. It has done well for us. I would definitely recommend this. 4Fits great but need Velcro attached I had to write a review considering all the bad comments which are hard to understand. You buy $16 cover and it work great.First let me start by saying that the this Pool Cover does cover my Intex 12ft pool perfectly with 8-10in over the sides, unlike the solar one that just sits in the pool. It has holes all around to prevent rain to accumulate in the middle and make it sag.I gave it 4 stars becuase of two issues I had.1. It needed two people to put on as the sides keep slipping if you do by yourself.2. As others said, the string holds nothing and it is useless. So, regarding the first issue, I had help so no big deal. The second problem is more serious as this cover will fly in the wind. So as others suggested, I bought VELCRO Brand - Industrial Strength Low Profile - 3' x 1" Tape - Black for $7, sold here on Amazon. Tapes 3in on each post and the cover and it now holds great! No more flapping or flying in the wind.Personally I like this cover and would recommend it. You wouldn't find better for the price. 4
