- ABOUT THE ARTIST -
Deybra Faire - Deybra studied art at The Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburgh P.A. She graduated with an Associates degree in Fine art. Her focus was on sculpture, textiles and painting. She came to Hawaii in 1979 and began teaching art to children upon arrival. She has shown her work in several states in the U.S and in Japan and Australia. She has been in numerous juried shows and invitationals including II X IV , Feast or Famine, Instrument Show, Shrine Show, War and Peace etc. She has had an array of solo shows the most recent being Fair Towers at the M.A.C.C. She has co operated two galleries featuring her work exclusively. A large two dimensional public installation was commissioned and is on display at the M.A.C.C. She has been awarded the honorable H.J Heinz Charitable and Family Trust award for her piece at the Carnegie museum Sarah Scaiff gallery. She has won 7 Art of Trash awards , Associated Artists of Pittsburgh award and a purchase by the State Foundation on Culture and the arts.
