Junk After years of good service from Aladdin insulated cups (most of which we still use) we bought these when we couldn't find the large Aladdins. Here's what we discovered: 1) from the beginning we had more trouble seating the lid so it would screw on straight. This got worse as the cups got older. 2) smooth sides make it a bit harder to hold, especially for kids 3) proprietary size means the straws can't be used with other cups 4) developed cracks right away despite hand washing 5) they both failed--water between the walls--within 18 months of purchase. Other reviewers noted that they don't hold the advertised 24 ounces. We haven't tested this but I wouldn't be surprised. 1Keeps drinks cold longer! In a head to head ... Keeps drinks cold longer! In a head to head contest with the Aero 16 insulated tumbler, this kept ice frozen for 3 hours after the Aero's ice had completely melted. And it doesn't get cold to the touch, so you know there's very little heat transfer going on. 5PERFECT FOR OUR NEEDS - UNTIL THEY CRACKED ON FIRST USE We were looking for some 24oz inexpensive tumblers just like these. They appear decently sturdy. We do NOT plan on using these daily, but rather occasionally for transferring drinks from those waxy paper fast food cups to something sturdier to bring home. We've had those flimsy cups squoose and spill in the car. UGH! These cups are just right for something sturdier. They fit our intended use perfectly.11/06/17 UPDATE: OK - mia culpa - the very first time we used them today, the blue cover cracked. Per the bad reviews I made sure the cover was NOT over tightened. This was still to NO avail, it cracked anyway. Good thing they were cheap (I guess on cost AND quality.) 1Simply Unacceptable - SPILLS This is a revised statement after the sellers offered to refund/replace the cups after the 30 day time limitation due to uncontrollable limitations of time trying to get product challenges fixed. While it was not advertised as being spill proof, we assumed it to be so due to its lid having a rubber lining; but spills definately occur. Often. Due to a poorly fitting lid. Spill prevention was the reason we paid a premium for such a cup. The Cupture Company provided replacements for the broken straw and lid which arrived with the original shipment after we sent pictures of them, and then a second set of pictures of the bottom of the glass for I.D. purposes because they could not determine which items needed replacement by item number only. After replacement of the lid and straw we found the lid is very difficult to apply to the cup securely enough to prevent spills, thus the reason for the original review we placed here. The sellers wrote us saying they would refund or replace the items if we would send them back to the company and remove this review. We've decided to keep the poor quality glasses for reasons of time expenditure, but we must suggest you do not get this if you need to protect your surroundings from spills and to prevent hassels. 1Pleased with this purchase. I've had these cups for a month now and they're pretty good. I don't wash the lid or straw in the dishwasher. I hand wash those things but the cups themselves do go in the dishwasher. The reason it's probably advisable to wash the lid by hand is because it has a rubber or silicone o-ring. And the straw seems to be made of a softer type of plastic so I'm thinking it may deform if exposed to the heat of my mighty dishwashing machine.I haven't had any condensation issues. Even though they're only insulated by air (two layers of plastic...nothing in between), they certainly slow down the melting of ice and beverages stay cold longer as a result. I have some tumblers made of really thick glass and these are much better to drink from. I haven't tried to put hot stuff in these but I assume they'd be fine for that.Having only had them for a month it's impossible for me to comment on their longevity, but it doesn't look like anything will go wrong anytime soon. If something happens they're inexpensive enough to replace. 5Great cup I bought this cup for my morning iced coffee and juices. It has served its purpose quite well!Both cups were in great condition upon opening. They are exactly 16 ounces, and have a high quality straw.To clean them, I simply wash it with soap and air dry it, or place it in the dishwasher. The only leaking I have experienced is through the straw hole if I fill it up too much (which is to be expected).I would definitely recommend buying these cups! 5Don't buy for the name tags; they don't stick I bought these before, in red and blue, and one of my kids promptly appropriated (and lost) one of them, but the remaining one lasted two years for me in daily commutes to work. I dropped it twice though, and the second time ruined the lid. So now I've bought the pink/green. Noticed the name tags were different, printed a bit differently and the plastic was white rather than clear. That was okay until I found they did not peel off the backing at all, and I had to wash them in the sink and sort of peel bits of paper off the back. Now they'll stay on briefly if moistened with water, but if they're dry, no way are they going to stick to the cup. So, the name tags, which were really helpful at work, are no longer a plus. Ice melts pretty fast in my iced coffee. Otherwise, they seem to be decent travel cups. 316 Ounce comparison I'm leaving this here because this is the info i was seeking before i placed an order. Great product. Side by side comparison of a Starbucks 16 ounce grande cup and the 16 ounce cups we ordered. They are slightly thinner/taller due to the cups thickness. 5Reasonably priced tumblers do not fight supervillians, but keep drinks cold. Every year I get overheated and every year I break a couple of mason jars trying to beat the heat through liquid cooling. This year I took the plunge to get an exclusive cold-beverage-container. I m on a budget, so I didn t have twenty bucks to drop on a state-of-the art vacuum sealed stainless steel tumbler, and two for twelve seemed like a good deal to me. I got the 24 oz variety.The cups come well packed, and the reusable labels stick well to the surface (reusable meaning you can put them on different cups, not that you can write different names on it, so check your spelling before you write). I rinsed before use and enjoyed. They re fairly easy to clean, and I m handwashing them based on previous reviews, since I d like these to last. These are technically dishwasher safe, but in a budget cup the seal will perform better with handwashing. Care in cleaning is the tradeoff I chose for not paying with the soul of my firstborn for a cup. The threads can be tricky to line up perfectly, but I ve found that setting the cup on a solid surface while I secure my beverage cuts down the difficulty by 95%.The cups perform well. I left the closed tumbler, full of ice, in my van in hundred degree weather for just over an hour, and barely had a sip of melted water to wet my whistle when I got back. I say that s decent performance for a budget item. I haven t used them to hold hot liquids, but I imagine the principal will be similar, though I assume with this kind of container, it ll be a better keep-you-cool item.A note on materials; It s acrylic, not adamantium. It will be subject to the same pitfalls of anything made of acrylic. Don t expect it to stand up to a chainsaw or an assault by zombie. That s common sense. I did lose a lid to a combination of teenage elbow and tile floor, but the cup WAS full at the time and survived the fall. This is where the customer service came into play and I have to say, it was FABULOUS, timely and cheerful.Remember, if you re wanting a tumbler that will last through the apocalypse and still keep your drink cold, you re probably not wanting something made of acrylic. If you want a nice double walled beverage container that, with some care, will keep your infused water chilly all summer and want it paired with fabulous customer service, this is your mojo. 5Very poor quality! Took them out of the box and washed them in the kitchen sink with hot water and dish soap. Both of the glasses immediately filled up between the outer layer and inner layer with sudsy water. They did not dry out so I will be mailing them back tomorrow. I should have listened to the reviews. Very disappointed. 1
