Customer Reviews

Fits Festool saw and router and my shop vac, thumbs up for this oneThis works great, I bought it to use with my Festool saw and router, the end that connects to the Festool is very snug with a bit of a rubbery area so you have to push and wiggle a bit to get it in but it stays in when dragging across the work area while cutting. To be clear, the first half inch fits inside the tool effortlessly, the rubber coating then fits in perfectly which requires some pushing, if it didn't then it would slide back out to easy. I purchased at the same time a 2" to 2" shop vac connector for the end that hooks to my shop vac. I am very pleased with this product and the price was in line with my comfort area, much less then the Festool hose, I love my Festool saw and router and table, but I think they are to high priced on accessories. Very good alternative to their hose. 5Definitely Money Well Spent! This is definitely money well spent! I'm in the process of refinishing an antique china cabinet and chifferobe and will be doing a fair amount of sanding inside my home. I needed a longer and more flexible hose to connect my sander to my shop vac; the hose that came with the shop vac was not working out. It was cumbersome to work around and either kinked or came off the sander outlet every time I moved to a different section. I definitely wasn't making much progress on my projects given the amount of time required to reconnect the hose to the sander and untangle the kinks. A day or so of that was more than enough to convince me that I needed a different setup so I started checking Amazon and found the Bosch VOC005 vacuum hose. The reviews of this hose were consistently high and the price was right plus my sander was a Bosch ROS20VSC and would be compatible with this hose. It arrived VERY quickly and was double boxed for protection . In fact, when I first saw how big the box was I actually wondered if I'd been sent the wrong item. Nope. Upon opening the very large outer box I found a second large box securely sealed and centered with air pillows inside. ( Both boxes were in perfect condition and will come in handy this christmas if my son doesn't nab them for his upcoming move!) The hose inside was perfect as well. It straightened out in all it's kinkless glory as soon as I pulled it out of box number 2. Hooking it to the vacuum was a cinche. Connecting the swivel end to the sander took a little longer but wasn't difficult. It looked too small but once I approached it from an angle and worked it on by rocking it side to side over the edges of the outlet it was a perfect fit. This thing will NOT be coming off accidentally. The length is wonderful. It's long enough to keep the shop vac out of my workspace. I sanded the inside of the china cabinet without once having to stop and reposition or reattach anything. Haven't even had to unkink a kink! I sanded well over an hour & a half and made up some of my lost time. To say I'm pleased is an understatement. I will probably retire the original hose and keep this one on the shop vac. It is not anti-static so keep that in mind if you are needing one for serious woodworking. For my purposes as a DIYer doing small projects this one is exactly what I need. I'm very glad I got this, it's worth it! 5Awesome vacuum hoseAwesome vacuum hose, I do woodwork for a living and had been struggling to find hose, adapters and all the necessary parts to make my tools able to use a vacuum cleaner when I'm using them, mostly because I'm on the field 98% of the time, and of course I have looked at the "Festool" line of tools and they have done an excellent job on controling the dust with all the tools, but man they are expensive, I don't own one jet but after watching many videos on Youtube! I definetely want some of the festool tools.Anyways, coming back to this hose, I'm using it with a cordless makita 6 1/2" circular saw, I had to buy the small plastic adapter to be able to connect the hose to the tool, and also I have it connected to a cheap Ridgid vaccum, it captures about 85% of the dust, it feels really light, flexible and strongh, I'm really happy with this house 5Outstanding flexible hose - doesn't quite fit 2 1/2" hoseOutstanding flexible hose, easy to use with handheld power tools like 3" power planer. Good airflow using a Ridgid shop vac. But the end that says it will fit a standard shop vac, it doesn't. So get a 2" flexible pipe coupling (black rubber with hose clamp on each end), they're great for this one and for various other 2 1/2" shop vac situations that don't quite fit, for example a Dust Deputy. 5Long. Durable. Good hose.Have been using this hose for a year and a half. Still in great shape. Some things I particularly like:* Good flexibility.* Tight friction fit on a DIY Dust Deputy.* Tight friction fit on a Ridgid WD4070 4-gallon shop vac.* Connects easily to my Festool sanders (ROTEX 125 and ETS 125).* Hose is a little longer than the good long cords on Festool sanders. Nice for avoiding tangles.Disclaimer? Not needed. I bought this hose. I was not compensated in any way. I'm posting this review because I'm pleased with the product. I hope you find this review helpful. Also seen:Oneida Molded DIY Dust Deputy CycloneEagle 1610MB Blue High Density Polyethylene Lab Pack Drum with Metal Lever-lock Lid, 14 gallon Capacity, 26.5" Height, 15" DiameterFestool 571782 RO 125 FEQ Rotex Sander 5Dimensions of hose connectorsI've not seen any reviews that give good dimensions. I purchased this to fit my Makita belt sander. I used three parts. The Bosch VAC005 hose has a 2-1/4" OD, 2.1" ID large connector for a vacuum. (I converted this to 4" for my dust collector.) The tool end is 1.1385" at the top, tapering to 1.400" at the bottom (nominal 35mm). This connector swivels, which saves a *lot* of headaches. In addition to the hose, I used the Bosch VAC003 35mm to 1-1/4" adaptor. Since the outlet on my Makita belt sander was almost exactly 1", I used the Fein 921072K13 Step Adaptor (rubber) to adapt to the sander. I cut off the smaller tapered end, and the middle section fit perfectly, and tightly, to the sander. The Bosch VAC003 fit perfectly to the Fein larger section. The adaptor that came with my Bosch RO sander fits this hose.In use, the hose is very flexible, and doesn't tie into knots. Letting the dust collector run for several seconds after finishing clears the hose reasonably well. 5Perfect dust collection hose for Bosch sanders.I bought a Bosch ROS65VC-6 6-Inch Pad Rear-Handle Random Orbit Sander with Vibration Control and wanted to connect it to my shop vacuum. This hose is made specifically to use with (some) Bosch tools and it connects directly and securely to the sander with no adapters. The other end of the hose has a 2 1/4" connector and plugs directly into my Rigid shop vacuum, again with no adapters. It's big enough to suck almost every bit of dust, flexible enough to stay out of the way and long enough to be useful!I was impressed with the amount of suction produced by the vacuum/hose/sander and decided to see how much weight I could pick up using the sanding pad. The answer: 5.2 pounds!Note: The photo Amazon uses for this product does not show the correct end fittings. One end is a special design with internal ridges that connects directly and securely to some Bosch tools. The other end fitting is 2 1/4" OD, and connects to many shop vacuums and hoses.Tip: Don't throw the box away. This hose is long and bulky and presents a storage challenge. I'm keeping it in the box it came in. 5Hose is awesome, plenty longReceived last week and used for the first time with my new Festool TS 55 REQ this last weekend. Had it hooked up to my Sears shop vac. I believe I used a 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" step up converter for the vacuum end (didn't measure, just grabbed one I had). Hose is awesome, plenty long, very flexible, good swivel on the tool end and while I didn't step on it, feels pretty tough if I did. What I received looks a bit diff than the Amazon pic on the tool end. I've posted a close up of the tool end (with and without the rubber step down end fitting) and a separate pic of the rubber end piece. You can take the rubber step down fitting off although it doesn't exactly "slip" off and goes back on just fine. The tool end ( with rubber end piece on) was a great fit on the TS 55 REQ (fits on the inside of the dust port as does the 27mm Festool hose as I understand it). It's much less expensive than the Festool equivalent and the only thing I'm missing is the anti-static feature (which wouldn't work anyway with my current set up). The rubber end piece looks very similar to Bosch VAC024 and could be identical. If you remove the rubber piece the opening is the exact same size as the dust port on my TS 55.Question to the Bosch rep who does a good job answering questions on this product. Is there a sleeve/coupler available which if I remove the rubber end part it slides over the end of the VAC005 (pic posted without rubber end piece) and the outside of the TS 55 REQ dust port (which would be identical to how I understand the 36mm Festool hose attaches and should be the same dimension as end of VAC005)? Any feedback appreciated. I would think an outside coupling would be more effective at collection than an inside coupling but, that said, the inside coupling worked awesome. There was virtually zero dust from the TS and I'm used to dust everywhere so this is nirvana (didn't even vacuum anything up after). 5Lightweight hose, quality connectorsWhat I like about this hose is it's light weight and good quality swiveling hose ends. What I don't like is that the hose has a bunch of slight curves in it that look like they are permanently set. If you were to lay it out in a line on the ground, it wouldn't be straight but more snakelike. If you take a Festool or Mr Nozzle hose and lay it out it will be straight. Mind you this is only a cosmetic issue, but still, it's a bit annoying on a hose at this price. In comparing this hose to a Mr Nozzle 1.5" hose, it's obvious the Mr Nozzle hose is heavier built, more rugged, and much more crush resistant than the Bosch. Same with Festool. That being said, I prefer using the Bosch hose connected to power tools over the Mr Nozzle hose. The main reason is that the hose is a lot lighter and easier to handle making it less cumbersome in use. It's also longer, at about 16ft. compared to the 12ft of the Mr Nozzle hose, and the extra length is handy to have at times. The fitting at the vacuum end of the Bosch hose will slip right into any standard Shop Vac 2.25" opening. The fitting at the tool end of the hose has an inner diameter of 25mm (1") and an outer diameter of 35mm. The inside of the 25mm end has a series of ribs that interlock on some of the tools with 27mm ribbed connectors, making for a good solid connection. It's a bit of a rat's nest out there between the North American Imperial and European Metric vacuum hoses and fittings. Bosch understands this and sells a few adapters to make their hoses compatible with North American fittings. If you have tools with other than 27mm or 1" ports, you'll need buy fittings that will adapt your tool to the Bosch hose. For example I have a couple of Dewalt sanders that can take 3 different hose sizes - 1", 1.5", and 2". The Bosch hose will require some sort of adapter to work with the Dewalts. The Bosch hose will slip into the 1" port but because of the thickness of the Bosch hose end it won't slip far enough into the Dewalt to stay in place. So there you have it. It's a good hose but be forewarned you may need to buy an adapter or two to fit various tools, especially older ones. 4Awesome alternative to FestoolI am reviewing this tool as a comparison to the Festool vacuum hose Adi feel that's what most folks are shopping for when viewing this item. I use my tools everyday and I appreciate the quality and don't mind paying for it. However, I get really sick and tired of Festool overcharging for everything. Their hoses are ridiculous. And the anti static hose is miserable to work with due to stiffness. This hose is comparable, if not identical, in color, composition and design, to the standard gray German product. It is very flexible and maybe a foot or so longer than the Festool brand. It's strong enough you can step on it without any damage and the adapters on both ends fit all my green tools on the small end and my Festool and standard vacuums on the opposite. Everyone that uses the vac hose ask what and where it came from. Highly recommend this product. 5
